Nails Of The Week: Feeling Fruity......

The sun is shining, you've probably dusted off your barbecue & may have contemplated wearing, gasps flip flops! But if the thought of the last two is a little premature, I have a little subtle sprinkle of summer that will put a smile on your face- orange nails, more specifically a light peach shade.

Queue Barry M's Gelly (that's right, with a g & not j!) Polishes which myself & a fair few other beauty girlies out there were completely lusting over last summer (mainly down to how ridiculously glossy they are!) & with the weather being super super sunny recently, I decided to crack out an old fav & embrace the bright coloured nails!

'Papaya' is a gorgeous peachy, coral shade that with or without a tan looks really pretty. As I said before, the ultimate thing I love the most about these nail polishes is the super glossy & hi shine effect these polishes have as soon as it touches your nails- looks like your wearing Nails inc's 'Kensington Caviar Topcoat' when secretly it's just two coats! The formula is a thick consistency meaning that with one swoop of the brush you get a great even coverage, but with two coats you get high shine & long wearing all in one.

Who doesn't want to pretend your sitting on a white, sandy beach drinking a fancy, tropical cocktail whilst supporting perfectly  fruity talons?!

Whats your favourite transitional colour ready for Summer?

Being Elle: The Sunday Catch Up 017......

2014-04-13

1. The hunt for a home continues & as always, Monday has been the day where I check Zoopla & Rightmove religiously as well as badgering estate agents to see if any houses have or are on the market matching our requirements.

2. Aside from house hunting & dodgy estate agents giving me a head ache, the only thing that has been keeping me sane this week is the idea of a summer holiday. Now I don't know where or when I will be going away this summer, I only know that I need to be somewhere quiet & warm!

3. This week I have been craving Wholefoods Falafal pieces with plain Hummus. Random I know but for some reason since discovering them in New York & the weather heating up, it just seems like the perfect summer snack! My question to you all is: Do the sell them in the Wholefoods in London?

4. Over the past I'd say month or so, I have been obsessed with watching old episodes of Gossip Girl namely seasons one, two & three. Who remembers Blair & Nate dating, Serena confessing to killing a man, Dan sleeping with a teacher & Jenny not wearing heavy black liner!? My one piece of advice to you all- dust off your GG boxsets & go on a marathon!

5. I was a single, cat lady for the evening on Wednesday as Adam was at Gadget Show live in Birmingham for the day, meaning I was left to fend for myself for the evening. This involved me cracking open a bottle of red, cooking Spag Bol for one, singing along to Green Day's American Idiot album & chatting to the cat! This is what my single life could have been like...

6. Shed a few tears on Thursday watching Anna give birth to her gorgeous baby boy! It was so so beautiful & it just makes me love watching their daily vlogs even more (watch it HERE).

7. The sun was out this Saturday & I was stuck indoors all day at work- boo! Nothing more to say.

8. Today (Sunday) I has been fairly productive as a Sunday goes- deep cleaned my hair using my trust Bumble & Bumble Sunday Shampoo, gave myself a snazzy, glossy, wavy blowout, made a tasty Sunday appropriate lunch of beans on toast (lush!) & started to spring clean my wardrobe. Who says Sundays are the day of rest!?

The Video: Beachy Glossy Waves Hair Tutorial (No Heat).....

0001G0

Its been nearly four years since I last did a heartless waves tutorial & god jolly this one is a whole lot better then my last one!

I have had four years to perfect my technique as to how I achieve beachy but glossy looking waves & this one is the most quickest & easiest, so much so that I pretty much do this everytime I wash my hair. I always get compliments on my hair when I wear it like this & it looks even better on two day hair with a spritz of dry shampoo with more texture & volume to it. It's perfect for me as I have to leave for work at six am every morning, so I can just create the waves overnight & run out of the door in the morning- no fuss!

I leave for work every morning at six am. Do you think I have time to put in any effort into my hair in the mornings? The answer to that my friends is a big fat NO! So what do I do to my hair to make it look a little more put together & as though I have been up since four getting ready for the day- the sleep with my hair in buns!

Thats right folks, my hair secret is out. I sleep with my hair wet, nicely rolled up in some Miley-esque buns! You happy you asked now?! This is my favourite hair look of all time on me, I get so many compliments from people I work with asking how I make my hair look so effortless & glossy but the answer is quiet simple- I do really nothing to it. Simple, glossy, beachy waves are within reach plus it looks even better on day two hair *winks*

Check out the video (Here) to see how I achieved this look.

Much Love,

Elle
