New York Drugstore Haul.....

I love shopping in drugstores!!!!

Every year when I take a trip over the Atlantic to good ol' America, one of the first things I do is go searching for a drugstore. Now, what is a drugstore I hear your cry? Well based on a UK equivalent, it is like a Superdrug or Boots- a shop that not only has a pharmacy, but it also sells cosmetics, hair products, food, magazines, home goods & much more!

Of course I made a list of all the little bits & bobs that I have been lusting over for such a long time (I have been compiling this list for months!)& that I am unable to get over hear- namely Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation!!! I didn't go as crazy as I have done in previous years, but I still brought a nice amount of pretty beauty bits that I am so excited to try!!

Street Style: New York Fashion Week 2013

Street style is one of the most inspirational forms of fashion. You can get inspiration from the way other people interpret a trend & how they style certain items, making it more relatable or easier to create the look for yourself.

Unbeknown to me, I was lucky enough to be staying literally a stones-throw away from The Lincoln Centre where fashion week was taking place, in The Empire Hotel. Not only was this so amazing because it was Chuck Bass' hotel in Gossip Girl (Fan girl moment!!) but also because I could literally spy on all of the stylish people coming & going to the shows from my hotel window.

The atmosphere around the area was so electric & stylish, even the Starbucks I visited on the corner of the street was literally crammed full with fashionistas & bloggers, in arrays of different colours & fabrics, updating their instagram & twitter feeds whilst standing in the queue waiting to grab their Starbucks fix in between shows. On the penultimate day of fashion week I decided to go venture down to the plaza outside the Lincoln Centre & just 'people watch'. Of course as you can imagine, it was completely crazy down there! Dozens of street photographers, tourists & show-goers buzzing around the fountain & plaza made it such a fascinating atmosphere to watch people.

Needless to say I had to snap some pictures of the very 'trendy' people (photographers included) who made me smile & take note of, from the penultimate day of fashion week.

Next Home Decor Haul.....

Currently I am having one of those 'I need to buy stuff for the house' phases, which is fine because I love interior design & everything to do with the house. But it's also a bad thing for my bank balance!

So last Friday I was having a girly day out with my mummy (Yes, I'm twenty two & still call my mum mummy problem?!)& we decided to visit the local Next store to have a little browse & lust. I am not a huge fan of Next it has to be said- mainly due to the women's clothes being far too frumpy, uninspiring & lacking good quality (yikes that sounds really harsh!) & this is still true, but I must say the home ware section pleasantly surprised me- great quality for affordable prices, it didn't look cheap & was very tasteful, as well as being unique & different to other home ware stores.

Needless to say we left with a few little bits & bobs & a long list of items we would like, but can't buy at the moment. Although I only brought a few items, I had to stop myself from buy too many pieces due to lack of space & no need for them at the present moment, but it did inspire me for when I have my own place. I am very happy with the items I brought because they were different, quirky & totally me!!
