Being Elle: Paris, Part Une....

As I said to you all in my last post I have been away for a couple of weeks, one of these weeks was spent in the gorgeous city of Paris which flew by just so quickly! Having got back not that long ago I didn't realise that one of my favourite bloggers: What Olivia Did. was out in Paris at the exact same time as myself (boo!)which is super amazing & I have just been reading about her experiences of the city, it's amazing how people can see a city in different ways (so go check her out!). 

So without further ado, lets get into this post & please be warned that like most of my travel posts I get a teeny, tiny bit carried away with the amount of photographs I post- but this has been considerably cut down, so again apologise for the photo heavy post!

Having arrived on Monday afternoon to our modern Montmartre hotel, the last thing we wanted to do was go sight seeing already after a long drive! One of the most funniest things of the whole visit was we were only in our hotel room for 1/2 an hour, when I saw from the window a completely naked man on one of the balconies opposite our room- needless to say it had to be documented via photography!

 So instead we settled into the area, grabbed a spot of dinner (amazing burger in a cute bar which was nameless!) & then had a good night sleep ready for the packed days ahead. So for the days that followed we really tried to pack in as much of Paris as we possibly could- we went to the top of The Arc de Triomphe, strolled down the Champs Elysees taking in all the shops from Zara to Cartier, Sephora to Guerlain, (there was even an M&S, total suprise to find but made a good place for lunch!)visited The Louvre & the beautiful gardens that it sits in, visited The Place de Concord, chilled out in some gorgeous, Parisian gardens- the list just goes on!

One of the things that I loved about this city is the people, the history & the architecture. I could have spent hours just wondering around the streets, photographing people & buildings, rustic wooden shutters & beautiful lamp posts- for me there was something just so historical, intriguing & beautiful everywhere you looked. The gardens were something out of an old novel, the people beautiful to watch & the history & chicness the city oozes- is enough for me just to be completely captivated & bewildered by the city. 

To finish off, we had already pre-booked tickets to get to the middle of The Eiffel Tower for 10:30pm (thank god we had, as the queues were absolutely RIDICULOUS & let's be honest, we were too scared to go all the way to the top!) This was one of the things that I had been looking forward to for the whole trip, just to see the whole of Paris lit up, looking all pretty is just something I had always wanted to experience! My pictures of the view up there turned out absolutely pants, even with the flash on, but let me tell you if you want to go up the Eiffel Tower you have to do it at night as the view is just breath taking.

Being Elle: Family Roadtrip, I'm In Paris!!

Bon Jour mes amies :)

C'est moi de la ville étonnante qui est à Paris!!!

Me & my family are here in this lovely city for 5 days & then we shall be heading onto another amazing city- Amsterdam!!

Eeeekk, this is so exciting, as I have never visited either cities before & just soaking up the culture of the Parisian's so far has been beautiful. We are staying in Montmartre, which is a very urban/edgy part of Paris in my eyes, as there are loads of coffee shops & bars that look just like the ones in The Village in New York. The weather hear at the moment is amazing, it's like the sun has had enough of hiding behind clouds & has just come out in full force & heat- thank god for air con!!

Needless to say I shall be updating you all on my Parisian experiences as & when I can but for now I must run as we have a packed day ahead of visiting the Louvre, walking along the Seine & eating way too many eclairs!

A Little Summer Tipple......

It's a brilliant thing, don't you think?

So this week I have been cruising it a little bit more than usual, as this weekend me & my family will be hosting a little get together/celebration for my grand parents diamond wedding anniversary. & being the 'hipster' that I am (jokes) I found myself & mummy having a good old nosey through pinterest, grabbing inspiration, from drinks to decorations, when I stumbled across millions of mouth watering pictures of different juices/drink ideas. 

Now I know what your all thinking...

How random is this post about drinks!? Well, I am a random person but more than that I am a HUGE foodie! & these ideas are simple, look amazing & are very easy to do, plus it gives me ideas for summer & my birthday- that is if we do have a summer at all here in England!!! 

So please feel free to have a drink at my blog bar....

Today's guest post is about one of my favorite thingsóvintage suitcases. I really enjoyed Elle's post which included the news that she is now the proud owner of lovely Harrods suitcases. She wants to stack them beside her bed and that's a great idea, but there are lots of ways to decorate with these vintage pieces that are reminiscent of wonderful trips by train or perhaps ocean liner. Here you will see interesting ways to display these romantic travel companions. Please enjoy!



Okay, so this isn't exactly a decorating idea, but you must admit each and every one of these cases is lovely in its own way. Oh, the tales of travel they could tell! Choose a few and start your own vintage suitcase collection.



A vintage vignette like this could be used in just about any room of the house. It's perfect for a bedroom corner.



Perhaps it will never go on the road again, but this battered and bruised suitcase has many years of decor life left in it. Vintage floral paintings on the wall soften the somewhat masculine feel of the display.



The empty end of a hallway like this one can be warmed up with a stylish stack of luggage topped by a lamp and mirror. Are those suitcase decorating ideas flowing yet?



Simply stacked in a bedroom corner, these suitcases add a bit of color to a sparsely furnished bedroom.



Two identical suitcases topped with a wooden tray make for a stylish bedside table in this vintage bedroom.



Vintage luggage fits beautifully into this feminine bedroom design. The lovely hues of the suitcases might even have inspired the gorgeous color palette.

My Mulberry Obsession......

I'm Elle & I have a Mulberry Obsession.

Mulberry for me is everything brilliant about British style & heritage combined. For those of you who don't know the brand or have never heard of the name, it is a company from Somerset, England which is VERY well known all over the world for it's leather goods- in particular ladies handbags. 

Now, I have a slight obsession with handbags.

It is an obsession which boarders on the lines of Carrie Bradshaw's with shoes, I can't go past a bag store with out going inside (the smell of leather entices me!) & if I see one that makes my heart beat faster, I know its fate & I have to get it. Now my love for Mulberry bags goes back a good few years now, ever since 'The Alexa' was introduced I started to become interested in the company, especially as the quality & style is beautiful.

I ♥ the shapes

I ♥ the colours

I ♥ the postman's iconic lock

but..

most importantly:

I ♥ Mulberry Bayswater

They are such pretty bags!! & the style is totally sophisticated & chic & me. You guys have know idea how close I was to buying one of these when I was in New York! But I could not decide on the colour! Classic black or delicate beige?! & now I have seen it now comes in burgundy!!! 

Mulberry are you trying to kill me!!? 

This now makes my decisions that much harder again, plus the new Del Ray bags are amazing!Vintage yet contemporary & the shape is gorgeous (loving the rounded edges), the only downside for me is I'm not sure if it's too small....
