Being Elle: The Sunday Catch Up Week 022.....

2015-08-10

Getting in a sneaky Sunday Catch-Up on here on a Monday, but yesterday understandably was my birthday,(24+1!) & I didn't want to sit inside typing this up when I could be enjoying the last of the summer sun, eating cake & catching up with my family- Sunday's really are the perfect day to have a birthday!

***********

1. Monday, Me & Adam had a little cry as he returned to work after his two week holiday- is it bad that we feel that way?!

2. After discovering Legally Blonde: The Musical a few months back, I have become completely obsessed with the song So Much Better- I know all the words, listen to it at lest twice a day & have listened to many different versions of it on Youtube!

3. Work on our house is still taking shape- this week saw our decking being replaced (as it was rotten in places & the boards were coming up, here there & everywhere!) & boy does it make the garden look wider! We also have been looking into replacing our banister & spindles in our hallway & landing, as they are really low down & wobbly, so fingers crossed we can get that sorted asap so we can finally carpet the whole of upstairs & staircase.

4. Tesco's Chocolate Covered Rice Cakes is my new go to snack- curbs my chocolate craving, is a lovely addition (if broken up) with some Strawberries & contains only eighty four calories.

5. Wednesday we went to Ikea & I'm pretty certain this was the only trip where we came out with hardly anything! I should probably mention that the only reason why we took this trip was to look at a sofa (which we are still not sure about), but only coming out with some wooden spoons, bins & Cacti I think deserves a round of applause!

6. I am now fully caught up with Pretty Little Liars & cannot contain my excitement for this weeks episode!!!! All the questions for the last six series will be answered, we find out who Charles is & finally we find out why everything that has happened to them has! I will not be looking forward to the long wait once this half of the series ends though- might have to rewatch it from the start again!

7. Since coming back from holiday & getting a little smidgen of a tan, I have really been enjoying the MUA Luxe Contour Kit in Medium/Dark which, for a bronzer & contour noob like me, is so beautiful & easy to use. A honey brown colour that looks really nice on my pale skin & in such pretty packaging- I think I can understand now what all the fuss is about!

8. Yesterday as mentioned, was my birthday & of course I had a blooming marvellous day (thank you sunshine gods!!) with my family. The day started off at Bills with Adam, where we went for our usual brunch (Veggie Breakfast with Scrambled Eggs & Crispy Potato is where its at!) that turned into a major cringe fest when the waitress walked out with a brownie complete with a candle on top. But I quickly got over that & we headed to my parents where I spent the rest of day- we went on a walk across the fields to one of my favourite pubs, chilled in the beer garden with a g&t in the sunshine, headed back & fired  up the barbecue where my parents, brother & sister put on a delicious spread & then after stuffing ourselves to the brim, out came the cake which we then ate as the sun went down. Overall I had a lovely day with the people I love ♥

Being Elle: The Sunday Catch Up 021....

IMG_5624

The Sunday Catch Up is back!!!!

Oh, how I have missed writing this weekly roundup!

1. Summer is finally here!!!! & this week the uk was blessed with some ridiculously hot weather, which although being cooped up indoors for nine hours a day working, has still put me in a very happy & positive mood for the week.

2. I have fallen back in love with my Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation after switching over to Bourjois' Healthy Mix Foundation. The texture & over all finish is just such a lovely light & flawless coverage, that I need to remind myself why I stopped using it in the first place!

3. On Wednesday I was in London for a meeting all day which then naturally led to a shopping trip on Oxford Street, Cocktails in Slug & Lettuce, a cheeky Charlotte Tilbury purchase & getting the train back from Victoria at 9pm! Who said work was boring!?

4. I have really been loving Pesto Scrambled Eggs recently on Avocado & Chilli Flake Toast with a few fried Mushrooms on top..... typing that just made me want to go cook some for lunch (moves to the kitchen to make lunch!)

5. The 1st of July kicked off my blog re-launch & re-design (if you don't know I will be blogging all of this month), which I have been meaning to do for years & am so happy I finally did it! Feedback would be great & muchly appreciated

6. After years of friends/work colleagues pushing me to watch Pretty Little Liars, I finally gave in & fired it up on Netflix & I am so so so obsessed! I'm already on season four, am in love with Shoby, am convinced Ali is alive & think Mona is psychotic! If you need me, you know where to find me!

7. Saturday saw me & Adam get all dolled up to attend one of his best friends weddings. It was such a lovely day, caught up with some old friends & made us think a lot more about our wedding (an updated wedding chit chat will be on the blog this week).

8. Highlights on the blog this week include: VE's Makeover | My Top 7 Favourite Cookery Books | Summer Lip's Sorted! & My Summer Inspirations Board

Being Elle: The Sunday Catch- Up Week 020...

image

1. Me & Adam started off the week with a little trip to Bluewater Shopping Centre. After getting stuck in traffic for over an hour we finally got there to do a sort of pre-birthday shopping for me, but we didn't end up picking up that much. I am happy with my Marvel top from Forever 21- it maybe a mens top but I love it & Adam picked it out!

2. Rediscovered Snack A Jacks in Barbecue. That is all.

3. We Exchanged on Tuesday!!!! We have a house! Completion date is 15th August, which means I will soon be barricaded in to a sea of cardboard boxes.

4. Wednesday & Thursday saw the dreaded twelve hour shifts to VM our store for two days before it re-opened. It was stressful, funny, interesting & creative but the store looks amazing so I am very happy.

5. I have been obsessed with Josie Maran's Argan Colour Stick in Natural Pink. Perfect for the summer months as well as a busy working gal on the go!

6. Friday finally saw the re-opening of our store & it felt like a huge weight had been lifted off my shoulders. Two weeks of overnights, twelve hour shifts, bruises & sleepless nights have all proved worth it- the store looks amazing & I could not be prouder of my team.

7. This weekend I thankfully had off- Saturday morning was again pretty chilled, caught up on the new ELLE & drank quiet a few green teas. In the evening I headed over to Adam's parents where we had a lovely, family barbecue (the first in all our seven years together!) & rounded off the evening taking a lovely bath.

8. Today (Sunday) saw me have a pretty chilled out day, which basically consisted of me lounging on the sofa, watching Gilmore Girls, typing out a few blog posts & enjoying a day off after such a busy week *exhales deeply*

Being Elle: The Sunday Catch Up 019.....

2014-06-01

1. The week started with two overnights which I felt went really well, but has left me really really tired & craving sleep for the rest of the week.

2. Tuesday saw something very very exciting happen. I don't want to tell you all yet because I don't want to jinx it, but I will share with you next week what I am talking about, but its sooooo exciting!!

3. Malteaser 'Teaser' chocolate bars are the bomb.com! We have them in the vending machine at work & I cannot get enough of them!!!

4. Caught up with Made in Chelsea on Wednesday & let's just say I am not a happy bunny! * Spoiler Alert *.....
Stevie & Stephenie.. WTF!
That Toff girl is extremely un-necessary
Alex's behaviour is appalling
Who would want to sleep with Spencer Matthew's knowing his reputation?!
Lucy & Jamie just need to be together. End.

5. I rediscovered one of my all time favourite songs this week 'Civil Sins' by Boy Kill Boy, which lets just say is extremely nostalgic & brings back alot of great memories from 2005-2006. It basically was my soundtrack- I actually used it as my 'background track' on my Myspace page & on plenty of slide shows I uploaded onto Bebo. In general it reminds me so much of parties, prom & general craziness that happened around this time of year eight years ago! That sentence makes me feel old!

6. My Sims 3 addiction is back in full swing (Adam you shouldn't have reminded me about it!) & I am sorry to admit that I spend every day after work playing on it for at lest three hours *slaps hand*

7. Saturday was chilled as ever- spent the day with my mummy & sister. We went to our local garden centre, mooched around our local farmers market, had a chat over Costa & I nearly stole a five week old kitten on a trip to our local pet shop (just look at that face!!!). In the evening I cooked a new Jamie Oliver recipe that turned out amazingly, well, that was until I took it out the oven & the handle of the frying pan broke dropping the whole thing onto the glass of the oven door!! *face palm* After a few frantic minuets of trying to salvage it, we sat down to dinner & lord, this is amazing- unhealthy but amazing! I will do a post on it soon.

8. Today (Sunday) has been spent doing very little. Had lunch outside in the sunshine (cheeky Bacon Sandwich), written a few blog posts for the week & planned some videos & posts. Later on when Adam's back from work & if the weather stays nice, I think we will go for a little walk in the fields & just have a chilled out evening as I have a really busy week at work ahead boo!

Being Elle: The Sunday Catch Up 018.....

2014-05-04

1. Monday started off on a really crappy note- My Grandpa had been taken into a hospital after a mild stroke, he is fine now doing a lot better then he was, but it just puts life into perspective I suppose & just makes you realise that your grandparents may not be around for that much longer.

2. My Sims Three obsession has returned- Adam you only have yourself to blame, as he exclaimed (whilst tidying my tech box) 'you don't play on The Sims anymore!' Oh, don't I?!

3. Now that the warm weather has started to return, I have been contemplating buy the Sally Hansen Airbrushed Legs Tan Glow. I have seen some really amazing pictures of the befores & afters on Pinterest which make me really want to give it a go, so if any of you guys have tried this or something similar let me know how you got on with it.

4. Never go into Marks & Spencer's hungry kids! This lesson was truly learnt on Wednesday after popping into my local one on my lunch break for a bottle of water, quickly turned into a full blown food splurge *slaps self on wrist*. However, I thankfully discovered the joys of their Falafal Balls (remember my craving for falafal in my last TSCU?) which definitely scratched an itch!

5. Also on Wednesday I dug my sad iPhone out of it's rice bed to discover it was alive! Yes guys the rice saved it, its a miracle! Although my new phone arrived on the same day meaning I now have two working phones *face palm*. So if anyone needs an iPhone 4, just ask!

6. Friday night was date night. This week we treated ourselves to an Ask complete with Buffalo Mozzarella, Parma Ham & Rocket Pizza, glass of Rose & a Garlic Bread to share. After chowing that bad boy down, we headed off to watch The Amazing Spiderman Two which was epic! Having already seen it once for my brothers birthday & thoroughly enjoying it, I was looking forward to seeing it again & wow I just loved it! Definitely a must see.

7. I have been obsessed with Palmers Coco Butter Body Lotion- smells so yummy, you would think it was edible & keeps my pins & hands soft & moisturised. Predict this will be my 'go to' body lotion for the rest of the year!

8. Saturday night was a little bit random- half of it was spent chilling on the sofa, eating a bowl full of pasta & chargrilled veg whilst laughing at the Top Gear's Africa Special repeat on Dave. & the other half was spent at an eighteen year old's birthday party, watching eighteen year old's make total fools out of themselves falling onto the floor (alcohol induced) & sticking there tongues down each others throats! That last sentence made me feel like a total granny, but jeez it was cringy! Two guesses as to where I would rather have been!?

9. Today (Sunday) has been spent on a bit of a spring cleaning mission. I packed away all my thick knits for the summer, bagged up some old clothes for recycling & went through my magazine pile. How productive!

Being Elle: The Sunday Catch Up 017......

2014-04-13

1. The hunt for a home continues & as always, Monday has been the day where I check Zoopla & Rightmove religiously as well as badgering estate agents to see if any houses have or are on the market matching our requirements.

2. Aside from house hunting & dodgy estate agents giving me a head ache, the only thing that has been keeping me sane this week is the idea of a summer holiday. Now I don't know where or when I will be going away this summer, I only know that I need to be somewhere quiet & warm!

3. This week I have been craving Wholefoods Falafal pieces with plain Hummus. Random I know but for some reason since discovering them in New York & the weather heating up, it just seems like the perfect summer snack! My question to you all is: Do the sell them in the Wholefoods in London?

4. Over the past I'd say month or so, I have been obsessed with watching old episodes of Gossip Girl namely seasons one, two & three. Who remembers Blair & Nate dating, Serena confessing to killing a man, Dan sleeping with a teacher & Jenny not wearing heavy black liner!? My one piece of advice to you all- dust off your GG boxsets & go on a marathon!

5. I was a single, cat lady for the evening on Wednesday as Adam was at Gadget Show live in Birmingham for the day, meaning I was left to fend for myself for the evening. This involved me cracking open a bottle of red, cooking Spag Bol for one, singing along to Green Day's American Idiot album & chatting to the cat! This is what my single life could have been like...

6. Shed a few tears on Thursday watching Anna give birth to her gorgeous baby boy! It was so so beautiful & it just makes me love watching their daily vlogs even more (watch it HERE).

7. The sun was out this Saturday & I was stuck indoors all day at work- boo! Nothing more to say.

8. Today (Sunday) I has been fairly productive as a Sunday goes- deep cleaned my hair using my trust Bumble & Bumble Sunday Shampoo, gave myself a snazzy, glossy, wavy blowout, made a tasty Sunday appropriate lunch of beans on toast (lush!) & started to spring clean my wardrobe. Who says Sundays are the day of rest!?

Being Elle: The Sunday Catch-Up 016......

2014-03-23

1. This week me & Adam had off from work together & so we decided to take some time out to focus on ourselves, as well as visit family & relax way from life & work.

2. Tuesday we visited the Champney's spa in Forest Mere, which was such a great & calming experience for both of us. We got our nails done, had an amazing message, ate super healthy & yummy food, pumped some iron in the gym & chilled out by the pool. It was (in my eyes) such a relaxing atmosphere with the spa situated within the New Forest & our room over looking a beautiful lake, which made me feel even more calm & able to switch off. It gave me & Adam the perfect time to just reconnect & focus on ourselves, that for my first spa experience made me feel very alive & peaceful.

3. To follow on from the spa break, I have perfected my bare face makeup routine using four products & a very light base. One of these products being my current obsession- Revlon Colourburst Matte Lipbalm in 'Complex', it is perfection.

4. I have really been getting back into watching daily Vloggers on Youtube. Over the last four months, I haven't really been watching these types of videos for some reason but now I can't stop watching itsJudysLife & TheSacconeJoly's!

5. My scalp has been feeling a little itchy recently & I'm not sure why, is it because of the change in weather? Is it because I'm not rising out my shampoo properly? Have I got a lot of product building up? Who knows! So I'm currently trying out a little cheap shampoo from Boots, which fingers crossed should help sooth my barnett!

6. Thursday saw us jet setting off again, but this time to somewhere a little nearer- Guernsey. For those of you who don't perhaps know, Adam's mums side of the family live over there & we love to go visit them over there. So we went over for a couple of nights to catch up with everyone- my passport now needs a little break!

7. Picked up a few cheeky pieces in Zara at the airport. What can I say... I have an addiction & no willpower- added plus is you guys will get a haul out of it!

8. On the house front, we found an amazing house this week that both of us fell in love with, which led to us putting in an offer for on Friday. However there was a lot of interest in it & we sadly lost it to a cash buyer. We feel really upset about it & disheartened, for me its purely down to the fact that I feel frustrated at how difficult it is for first time buyers to get what they want, when we are constantly competing with a vast number of property developers who just have money on their minds. But I'm sure we will scrap ourselves up off the floor & battle on- third time lucky?!

9. Saturday was a pretty chilled last day in Guernsey- we took a drive along the coast with the windows down, listening to Radio One, stopped off in town at our favourite restaurant Dix Neuf for lunch & then drove to the airport to catch our flight back home. Was honestly such a lovely trip to see Adam's family & just being on the island is so calming & nostalgic for both of us, it just rounded off the week so nicely.

Being Elle: The Sunday Catch Up 015.....

2014-03-02

1. The week started off with a bang by doing an over night at work- yay!

2. My body could no longer fight it. It was inevitable- I was struck with a sneaky cold! Thankfully it is my only cold of the year & as I have a pretty good immune system, it should be gone soon. Although for the time being I have a voice that resembles Macy Greys!

3. Being the bargain hunter that I am & my hair dryer being on the brink of retirement, I ventured into Boots & snapped up the Remington Silk Dryer that I had been eyeing up since November. I missed out on it when it was on offer before Christmas, due to the fact it was at a ridiculously low price of twenty five pounds & selling out instantly! But when I spied it back on offer from £54 to £34 I couldn't let it go again & ran to the cash desk.

4. This week I have been obsessed with Rich Kids Of Beverly Hills. It's cringy with over the top, spoilt rich (I wanna say kids as that is the way they behave, but they are all grown adults of twenty four plus!) twenty-somethings who have a ridiculous lifestyle. It's my guilty pleasure of the moment!

5. Started practising for Pancake Day by cooking some mean American style pancakes mid week. Mine was served with Cherry Pie filling, Adam's was with Vanilla Ice Cream- yums!

6. My purse is now officially on lock down since Friday as I spent way too much money in New York. So no venturing into Boots to indulge in the notorious three for two offer for me *powts*

7. Saturday was a pretty hectic day on the old work front, thanks to it being pay weekend & the launch of our mid-season sale. My legs are not thanking me today! Also both mine & Adam's parents went to look around a potential house (cross fingers!) that we may be putting in an offer for on Monday! That sentence just felt far too grown up!

8. Highlights on VE for the week include: The first VLOG from our trip to New York & Nails of The Week

Being Elle: The Sunday Catch-Up Week 014.......

2013-12-01
1. My day off on Monday proved very productive- cleaned, filmed & edited a couple of videos & trying to organise general bits & bobs.

2. I had another disastrous day at work & had a little cry on my lunch break on the phone to Adam. It basically involved me finding out my Christmas rota which included twelve over nights in a month & the rest of my shifts starting at seven am. Would I see Adam or my family over the Christmas period? With this rota not a great deal (sad face) but watch this space.

3. This whole week I have been contemplating whether or not it is too early to put up the Christmas Decorations... needless to say logic took over & they are still in the loft calling out to me.

4. Have been lusting over far too many things from Topshop! Must resist till after Christmas.

5. This week I discovered something amazing..... M&S Turkey & Cranberry Pastry Roll!! Writing that just makes me salivate (lol) it is just ten times better then a sausage roll & tastes like Christmas. I think it is acceptable to have one a day until the twenty fifth!

6. Thursday was ice skating day aka my way of ice skating involving me pulling myself along the edge of the ice rink!! Oh how my work colleagues laughed. I love how at Brighton Pavilion the ice rink pops up every November ready for the festive period- it looks so pretty with the lights projected onto it & of course after putting myself through all that, I had to round off the evening with a Mulled Cider (oh how festive!).

7. Catfish on Viva has been my guilty pleasure all of this week. It is such an eye opening program with some really shocking twists, (example a guy meet a women on a dating site who said she was trans gender & when they met it person she actually wasn't trans gender!) but such a good watch!!

8. Saturday was absolute madness at work & like a customer kindly reminded me, it's only three more weekends to go until Christmas- ergo everyone in the Sussex area was in Brighton!! Thankfully I finished work at four & made my way home to flake on the sofa with a big cup of green tea & a muffin, whilst watching a really bad Christmas film called 'Meet the Clauses' & trying to write a Christmas Wish List. As I was too lazy to cook, a Domino's order was placed & I pretty much spent the rest of Saturday night on the sofa- bliss.

Can you believe we are already in December!? Three & a bit weeks to go!!

Much Love,
Elle

Being Elle: The Sunday Catch-Up Week 013.....

2013-11-25

1. Monday was the day from hell. Starting work at six thirty am is by no means thrilling at all, but throw into that mix all trains to Brighton being cancelled till eight at the very earliest, waiting at the station for a bus replacement to get into work for over half an hour & then fast walking it out of the station so fast that you end up going round a corner too quickly & sliding over onto your side avoiding a face planting moment- that was even before I started work! There's a reason why I don't like Mondays.

2. Happier note- I had a very tasty dinner at Wagamama's to numb the pain!! Service as always was very speedy & the food was great- opted for the Yasai Katsu Curry(aubergine, sweet potato & butternut squash in breadcrumbs) which was AMAZING!!! Put a smile on my face.

3. Starbucks Peppermint Signature Hot Chocolate with Soya Milk is the bomb.com!!

4. I have been enjoying using my Origin's Highly Potent Night Cream & this week I have really started to notice a difference in the way my skin is looking a feeling- acne scars are fading, my pores have shrunk a little & my skin feels a lot more softer & hydrated. Updated skin care routine post I feel is in order.

5. I currently have the New York itch meaning that a trip will be booked in the next few weeks!!!! Let the count down begin!

6. My day off on Thursday was spent lusting after everything online at Zara- must resist till after Christmas!!!

7. Saturday was again a very busy day at work- unfortunately when you work in retail, its inevitable that the nearer you get to Christmas the busier you get! Finished work at four & then had a lovely evening in front of the fire with a glass of chilled Chardonnay, watching the Doctor Who fiftieth anniversary special. Very calm & chilled out, just how I like to spend my Saturday evenings.

8. Saturday also saw my cousin give birth to a cute, bundle of pinkness, a lovely girl called Ava. Can't wait to meet her at the family gathering before Christmas ♥

Being Elle: The Sunday Catch- Up Week 012....

2013-11-18
*Yay for the weekly catch up being on a Monday!!*

1. Monday saw me complete an over night merchandising move at work ready for the Christmas Collections launch. Absolutely knackering as I finished at six thirty in the morning, but completely worth it as the store looks beautiful *smiles*

2. Nothing says autumn then sitting on the sofa, tucked up in a knitted blanket with a mug of earl grey & a Gilmore Girls boxset- yes that is all I have been doing every evening this week... well that & dreaming of Milo Ventimiglia!

3. On the topic of hot guys, who saw the sizzling promo pictures of the '50 Shades of Grey' leads in Entertainment Weekly? One word. Excited.

4. Christmas music started playing in the store on Thursday & a tin on Roses also may have been opened along the way, yes it is safe to say Christmas is looming & I am really excited!!!!

5. Spent a little too much in good old Primark again this week- Expect a cheeky haul video up on Friday!

6. It was my day off & Daddy's birthday on which meant my whole family ventured down to the local pub for lunch. I indulged in a yummy Chicken Tikka Wrap with Chips & a cheeky Coke or two to wash it all down with! It was a lovely & relaxing day spent celebrating with my family.

7. It's autumn which means it's that time of the year again- that's right, it's bus replacement season which unfortunately means it takes me twice as long to get into work on the weekends (joy!) & this whole weekend was no exception. Sometimes I just wish that they just didn't run buses in replacement of trains so that I could just simply stay in bed the whole weekend!

8. Sunday was spent having a little lie in till ten, before I then had to go to leave for work at one (yes on a Sunday! Joys of retail!) until ten. Needless to say I pretty much crashed into bed as soon as I got home!

9. Highlights on the blog this week include: Want Hair Like Kate Middleton? | Origins Morning To Midnight Gift Set.

Being Elle: The Sunday Catch Up Week 011.....

2013-11-10

1. Monday saw me return back to work after taking a lovely, well deserved week off. Needless to say starting your first shift back by getting up at five in the morning was absolutely thrilling (sarcasm!), but to make things even better messed up my body clock so much that I managed to sleep three hours a night for three days!!

2. So leading on from that, I was pretty much an emotional zombie for the week as running on no sleep (I have to have eight hours or more a night to feel human) made me feel & look horrible, as well as wanting to breakdown in tears when talking to my mum or Adam on the phone! Needless to say I was ecstatic when on Thursday night I managed to sleep for nine hours & enjoyed a much needed day off on Friday *smiles all round!*

3. Caught up on Made in Chelsea for this week on Wednesday (yes two days late) & it was again a beaut! The ever decedent Mark Francis scene where he is surrounded in Cartier & talking in a very serious tone about sleeping bags just had me giggling! As well as the usual- Jamie/Phoebe/Lucy triangle, Francis jumping out of a bush, Louise making it through a whole episode without crying, finding out Andy could sing & finishing in a drink throw! Good episode all round I'd say!

4. As the weathers got a lot colder recently, I have really been loving soup & my two favourites are Sainsbury's Tomato & Red Pepper as well as Tescos Tuscan Bean.

5. Could not stop smiling when my favourite Internet family- The Saccone-Joly's found out the gender of their new baby (watch the video HERE)!! The moment when Anna told her mum just gave me goosebumps & it makes me really excited for them.

6. Pulled out of storage the first Christmas jumper on Friday & to make things even more Christmasy, John Lewis released their Christmas Advert for this year & of course I did cry a little at it- Lily Allen singing Keane featuring a cute Bear & Hare, who wouldn't?!

7. Yesterday was a mixture of running around & chilling out- I spent the morning at work, which it being the weekend was super busy & stressful, but as I finished at three I then spent the evening snuggled up in bed with Adam watching Strictly Come Dancing, eating chocolate & chilling after a ridiculously tiring week!

8. Products I couldn't live without this week: Origins GinZig Refreshing Eye Cream & Benefit Eye Bright Pencil

Being Elle: The Sunday Catch Up Week 010.....

2013-07-01

*** Yes this is cheekily being posted on a Monday, but better late then never I say!

1. The week began with a very serious meeting at work to discuss our stores future & to cut a long story short, it confirmed the inevitability of it closing. Of course I have only just begun working of this company (just coming up to three months) & really didn't want my time to end so soon, so after a few meetings to discuss my options, I think we have found a much better position for me within the company in a different (but familiar) location- I don't want to jinx anything as of yet, but everything should be finalised this week so I'll update you all soon!

2. On a happier note, Monday also saw the arrival of my much anticipated Zara package! This was of course very exciting as it contained some gorgeous bargains from their sale, which started the previous Thursday. Needless to say I was very very happy with all my pretty purchases so expect a haul video this coming week!

3. I sorted out my craving for frozen yogurt on Wednesday, by visiting one of my favourite places to eat in Brighton- Lick. Plain yogurt, Strawberries & Honeycomb is the best combo!

4. After six long months of hair neglect *gulp*, I finally got a long over due haircut which my hair was very thankful for!! I got more layers put in to deal with the weight thick hair brings & also more around the face just so it didn't look boring! So far I love it but I just need to keep practising my blow drying technique to achieve the overall look I want.

5. Combated my crazy skin breakout head on with a total 'strip down' of products & makeup throughout the week, which saw my skin settle down & get back to normal thank goodness- again look out for a post next week as I need to share with you all these lifesaving products & tips.

6. Had a little giggle watching the Made in Chelsea end of series party- how cringy was the beginning with the superhero sketch??! Favourite cast member of the series was of course Mark Francis, who made me love him even more as well as making me burst out laughing when he declared he didn't even no most of his cast mates names!! & of course reaffirming the fact to all ladies out there that Spencer Matthews is of course the lowest of the low, by admitting that he & Lucy are no longer together as he (of course) has cheated on her- someone should just castrate him already!

7. Peonies (my favourite flower) are finally in season, which means that I will be buying at lest one bunch every week as they make me smile.

8. Sunday as like all of my Sunday's, was very chilled out- Me & my mum visited a National Trust site which was lovely especially with the gorgeous weather we have finally been having. I just love being outdoors, taking all of nature in & enjoying what is outside when the weather is this good, so walking around the grounds of a restored manor house with all the colour & beauty its gardens had to offer was just perfect. It made the day even better by having a little cake & tea in the outdoors cafe, with the company of a family of ducks & the never ending blue sky.

How has your week been?

Much Love,

Being Elle: The Sunday Catch Up Week 009......

2013-06-23

1. My week kicked off with the last in the series of Made in Chelsea- boo!! As always there was a lot of drama, surprise relationships, random parties & brilliant quotes, (Millie always gets the good one liners!) if you watch it I won't spoil it for you but all I can say is I am no longer on Louise's side. Let's hope the nest series is just as good.

2. Wednesday saw me & Adam return to the International Antiques & Collectors Fayre, where we picked up a few lovely little bits & pieces for the future home. Adam spent a good fifteen minuets deciding whether he wanted a metal draw unit (which he ended up getting) & I happily chatted to a lovely lady over cushions, who said I reminded her of her daughter, so much so that it led to her giving me £2 off a cushion- score!

3. This week I have really been enjoying my Catrice 'Prime & Fine Highlighting Powder'. Now normally I do not like using a powder highlighter, I just prefer the overall look & application of a liquid however the subtle gold/pink shimmer of this powder has got me hooked ♥

4. My skin went absolutely crazy on Thursday. I have not had a breakout this bad in quiet a while & although I have not added anything different into my skincare routine, (you guys know I stick with the tried & tested products) I did make homemade pore stripes which could have caused this major skin upset! Although the pore stripes were really fun to make & peel off, taking away many blackheads & yuckiness- it could have caused this reaction. So therefore I am currently on a 'back to basics' mission of no new products, no makeup & slapping on the witch hazel!!!

5. On the subject of health, I have also had cravings all this week for Cadbury's Marvellous Creations Chocolate bars which if you guys have not heard of them, are a chocolate bar with jelly beans, popping candy & smarties-like sweets in it. Tastes great but all this bad eating could have been another reason for my skin to go crazy, so cutting everything bad out for next week.

6. Thursday night saw me stay up till midnight to grab me some bargains at the Zara sale. A few things that I had been eyeing up all season did not go into sale, but as it is my birthday soon I thought to try them anyways to see if I liked them enough to want them for then- so expect a Zara haul coming soon next week!

7. Saturday marked my little sisters twenty first birthday, which makes me feel really old! Sadly I had to work a four hour shift in the middle of the day so missed the main event, which was an Alice in Wonderland style tea party *sad face* but we had a lovely evening munching on left overs & playing boardgames (how British!) so kind of made up for missing most of the day.

8. Sunday (today) has as always been a relaxed & chilled out day, spent doing not much! Caught up on all my missed Youtube videos, replying to comments & emails, painting my nails (Essie's Bikini So Teeny for reference) & having a lovely home cooked Chicken, Bacon & Leek pie for dinner- could my Sunday have been anymore relaxing?!

What have you done this week?

Much Love,

Being Elle: The Sunday Catch Up Week 008.......

IMG_1598

1. Pretty hectic week on the old work front, consisting of preparing the store for the regional's visit tomorrow, re-merchandising the whole shop floor & having a giggle with the staff! I have been very very thankful for a day off today to sleep in & let my mind slow down!

2. This week continues my nightly date with my SATC boxset. Nearly at the end of the final season, I am a couple of episodes away from Carries big (no pun intended) move to Paris. My fiance's mum asked me the other day who I saw myself as in SATC? Honestly I would say I am a mixture of both Carrie, Miranda & Charlotte (sorry Samantha but I am just not a confident, ragging sexaholic like yourself!!). On one hand I love fashion & am addicted to bags like Carrie is to shoes, I am a workaholic like Miranda & a hopeless romantic like Charlotte. So I'm Carriandalotte!

3. After Wednesday & Thursdays dreary, dull & winter-esque weather I have been day dreaming/looking forward to my summer holiday with the family this year. Now you all know by now that we visit France every year & this year is no exception, except that we will be journeying to the gorgeous & luxurious South where Monaco, Cannes, Nice & Grasse are all but a ten to half hours drive away! I need some sun, sea & french designers in my life now!

4. On the topic of France, I was extremely excited to find out that Isabel Marant will be collaborating with H&M to create a one off collection, which will be launched in November. Unlike most H&M collaborations, I am genuinely excited for this one as I have grown to love Marant's cool & chic model off duty look.

5. After six months (gulp) of avoiding having my haircut, I finally booked a much needed cut & re-style. I have had no inspiration to spend anytime styling my hair apart from the odd day here & there of curling, so a much needed hair overhaul will be taking place the week after next! I'm thinking of keeping the length as it is (just a tidy up needed) & getting more long layers put in so that it looks a little bit more like this. What are your thoughts? & yes, Claire is my hairspiration (love her blog & Youtube Channel).

6. Friday saw another date night with the fiance. The night consisted of my new favourite pizza- Parma Ham, Rocket & Mozzarella on a thin stone baked base, as well as getting our superhero fix at the cinema by watch 'Man of Steel'. The movie was excellent: graphics, music, acting & overall production was phenomenal. Everything I was expecting & more just the overall storyline lacked a little something. Still date night was lovely as always ♥

7. Slight addiction happening with Cadbury's Twirls. Similar to a  flake but this time its covered in chocolate- needless to say this is heaven & addictive!

8. Today (Sunday) was as intended, the day of rest & completely relaxed. I slept in till nine & caught up on Youtube videos in bed till eleven, Adam came over & as the weather had improved we headed off on a Sunday stroll in the fields & was finished off by silly 'couple' antics such as trying to do the 'Superman' on each other (not at all dirty!) & breaking down into a giggling fit! Also as it is of course Fathers Day & Sunday, we had a lovely family roast & family time.

9. Highlights on the blog include| Review on Revlon's Suede Lipsticks & a (gasps!) Eye Look of the Day.

How has your week been? Have you had a crazy time at work like me?

Much Love,
Elle
