Hello October!
Yes you are here, it feels like only yesterday it was the beginning of June. But here we are.
Autumn is my favourite season for makeup- I love me a golden eye, berry lip or a dark smokey lid. So to fully embrace the start of autumn, todays post is a look based around a rusty gold & cooper eye featuring some new & exciting products that have join my makeup family, enjoy!
Kicking it of with base, I used my favourite foundation of the moment Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum in Vanille Clair which as I have said before is a beautiful, light weight foundation that gives off the luminous, healthy glow that I love. For dark circles Maybelline's Age Rewind Eraser Eye Concealer in Light is amazing at making it look like I have had my eight hours sleep a night- I apply one layer, pat into the under eye area & then apply a little more if needed. Of course to cover any redness & blemishes I use the Makeup Academy's Conceal & Brighten Palette in Porcelain Beige & then a little light dusting of Rimmel's Stay Matte Pressed Powder in Transparent across my T-Zone to hold it all in place.
Now if you haven't heard of Makeup Revolution, then you seriously need to go check them out- the ethos around there products is that 'Professional Makeup should be affordable & accessible to all' & this brand's products seriously pack a punch! One of the first products I am using by them is the Iconic Pro 1 Eyeshadow Palette, which is hailed by many as an exact dupe for the Lorac Pro Palette as the colours & textures of the shadows are more or less the same. It comes with eight matte & eight shimmery shadows, which are really buttery in texture & apply evenly. I start by applying the true gold colour all over the eyelid, gave it a little blend with a fluffy brush & then added the coppery red colour in the crease to add a bit of definition. To finish off the eyes I used lashings of Maybelline's Lash Sensation Mascara, which really helps to lengthen the lashes as well as giving them a fuller appearance.
For cheeks I'm using Makeup Revolution Ultra Blusher Palette in Hot Spice, which I have to say is blooming beautiful! The Palette comes with six matte shades & two shimmy ones, which are similar in appearance & application to MAC's Mineralise Blushers- they are nicely pigmented & really soft in texture, making it dreamy to apply but just remember a little goes along way! Today I used the darker pink mineralised/marbled blusher on the apples of my cheeks & blended up towards my temples to soften it a little.
Lastly lips & I again reached for the Newlook Pure Colour Lip Liner in Apricot, as I wanted this look to be all about the eyes & a taupey brown always looks good with a golden eye.
Rusty golden eyes with healthy luminous skin, lashings of mascara & an earthy lip- perfect for those autumnal evening walking across golden fields.
Much Love,
Elle
