To Ombre Or Not To Ombre.....

The Ombre trend has been going round for a good couple of years now.

From nails to shorts to hair, everyone is loving the ombre

& ever since last summer I have been extremely curious to try it out, because I think it is the perfect, summer look- however being a novice to any kind of hair colouring I am very scared of completely ruining my hair!

Yes, there was a one experience when I was 13 using some red, wash in wash out hair dye that never actually showed up in my hair, but apart from that my hair is, as many people like to put it 'virgin hair'.

Now its not like I want to go full on ombre & go blond on the bottom because I am not that daring/brave,(lol) but also because I want the colour to compliment the natural tones that I have in my hair already- that being a reddish tinge.

So I have decided that perhaps a coppery/red colour is the way forward!

But....

I am scared of ruining my hair & ending up looking like a badger, which lets face it, is NOT a good look!

I want to save money & do it myself at home, but being a 'novice' I have a feeling that it will end up going badly wrong & I really don't want to pay a lot of money to get it done professional (many of my friends say its mega easy to do at home.)

But is it really that easy & simple that even I, with no previous dying experience can do?

If Lauren Conrad can rock rainbow hair, can I get away with subtle copper ombre?

Bedroom Ideas...

I really enjoy interior design.

I constantly love looking on the Internet, in magazines & talking to my friends looking for different ideas & inspirations when organising & changing my room.

However, unlike most of my friends I still live at home (many are either finishing uni or are living in rented accommodation) & have only one room that I basically live in & can re-decorate. & for the last few months I have seriously been having the erg to re-do my room.

It has been about two years since I finally finished my room, exactly how I wanted it at the time- Shabby chic furniture, with a dark red feature wall behind my bed, "Star" in wooden letters on the same wall, black & white floral duvet cover & pillows. It did take me well over 4 years to actually buy all the furniture, paint, carpet, get the small finishing touches ect- but now I feel like I'm tired of my room as I did start the process of changing it when I was 16, so I feel that I have grown out of what I wanted my room to be like & my taste has matured since. Granted I still LOVE all of the furniture & little pieces I have got over the years & trust me I shall be keeping all of them, I just feel like I need a small change for what should be the very last time until I get my own place with my boyfriend (ekk!!)

So natural I have been searching the world of Google & Pinterest, getting inspiration & ideas of how I would like my room to turn out. I still LOVE shabby chic, however I would like to add a few more modern bits & bobs to it to make it a little more boutique & comfortable.

My colour scheme at the moment is red, white & black which I think is just too much!!! I'm loving the more neutral tones such as cream, biscuit browns, green & light pinks. I recently picked up a small tester pot by Dulux in the shade 'Leafy Cottage' & although I have yet to try it out I feel like this colour would look really good on just the wall behind my bed, as I like to do one main feature wall in my room. Unfortunately for me I have textured wall paper on my wall, as the walls behind it have got tones of holes & dents from the previous owners so alas it has to stay, but it's not so noticeable when you have neutral tones over the top of it.

I really, really lucky to be gifted these beautiful, genuine Harrods suitcases the other day from my boyfriends mum, after falling in love with them in a charity shop window, she very, very generously brought the for me & I am BEYOND happy with them! They look beautiful in my room & are exactly what I wanted, as I shall be stacking them up next to my bed as a bed side table!

So they are my thoughts of how my room shall hopefully turn out, have any of you got anymore ideas or inspirations you could give me?

When I woke up this morning to look at my twitter feed literally everything I saw was a running commentary of who was wearing what, at what many considered to be the fashion event of the year.

I have been beyond excited to see what many of my favourite stars had decide to wear walking up the traditional Met steps, as for me its all about the classic, sophisticated glamour behind this traditional event.

I like to see trains, up do's, sleek lines, sequins, tulle & men looking dapper- the hint of old New York mixed with the modern, edgier side.

My top four?

Without a doubt Beyonce had to be my number 1 pick- the dress was dramatic with the feather train & the sequined lace detail, she looked sleek & sophisticate & she looked phenomenal in one of her first 'public' events since giving birth four months ago

Who were the worst dressed?

In my eyes I always expect great things from Kristen Stewart,SJP & Leighton Meester, they have such good style & know how to rock a fabulous outfit, however for me they kind of fell flat when compared to my top 4 & all the others feathered in this post. Nothing special & slightly disappointing!

Style: The Perfect Summer Bag.....

Heya lovelies,

Long time no speak!

I'm beyond sorry for the lack of post as of recent, I'm not going to make up a lame excuse only that I have honestly been busy & just wanted some time away- I hope you can all forgive me :)

But...

Let's power on!!

As you all know I have become a huge lover of Zara (was not a huge fan but was luckily converted!) & basically check it on a regular basis for new items & ones that I can add to my 'need to have in my life' list, & whilst browsing the other day I came across these beauties.

They are so pretty with the little cut out holes more or less all over, with the best colour palette possible for spring/summer (my fav is either the green or coral)& are not as overwhelming in size as the cult 'plated leather shopper' bag- literally you could fit keys,purse,makeup,phone ect & would be able to find everything quickly (one of my pet peeves is having to root around in your bag for ages trying to find your keys!)

They look extremely versatile as well, I could see you using it as your statement bag for dinner out wearing just a simple black blazer & white dress, or using it on a regular, day to day basis with pumps,jeans & a baggy top. But I feel it's the cut out detail that gives it an edge that makes it look a lot more designer than high street.

For me Zara do bags better than any other store on the high street.

I believe this is because of three main point:

The design

The quality

The price

They look more expensive then they actually are & for many of us that cannot afford designer, it's like getting a little slice of what it would/could be like & plus we all like a bargain!
