Collars......

Images sourced by the amazingly talented bunch @ weheartit.com

Collars.
I'm absoulutly in love with them.
Whether they are an embellished collar, fur collars or a peter pan collar, they look fab peeking out of a big, chunky knitted jumper or wore over the top of a coat.

How do you like to wear yours?

Much Love,
Elle

Those Lazy, Crazy, Hazy Days.....

Image from the talented people @ weheartit.com

Hello :)
How cute is that picture above!!??
I WANT ONE!!!
*cough Christmas*

Today has been one of those lazy, snuggly days, when you just want to stay in bed all day, wear a HUGE cardigan, wear no makeup & do absolute nada- so that's what I did! AHA!
Today I just caught up on A LOT of videos & blogposts from some of my fav peeps- Zoella, TheSacconeJoly's, Fashiontoast, What Olivia Did, TheStyleGossiper, to name a few & it kinda got me thinking.........

I REALLY NEED TO UP MY GAME!

Whilst I think my blog is defo my strong point, (I have had a love/hate relationship with the old Youtube over the last year & just cant seem to get my mojo back for it boo!) I constantly think to myself, why the hell am I not posting pictures of my outfits, lookbooks, fashion loves/hates- just MORE FASHION RELATED STUFF IN GENERAL!!!? Because that is what I set out to do all along & it is what I really love to read/watch myself.
The answer is: I don't really know.

I constantly find myself creating great outfits, finding great locations to shoot at- but I think the main fact is that I do not have anyone who can shoot the pictures for me. I have in my head exactly how I want them to look, the right lighting, what angles ect, but I only have my tripod to use & tripods can only do so much! I only really have two days a week to shoot pictures & ten times out of ten I do not have any energy to physically do it!

My youtube channel is probably the main area that I have neglected the most. I never stuck to the outline of what I wanted to do- Vintage Fashion. I kinda got sucked into the whole 'Beauty' community because every person who I found mainly did beauty with a bit of fashion on the side & I couldn't come up with many good ideas for videos. Most of you probably found me through youtube & I think most people kinda felt disappointed by the content, lets face it- it's nothing really amazing & there's no lack of real identity. I cringe over most of the videos on there!! & today when i found a few new people, who I had never seen before who's videos were really really amazing, it defiantly woke me up!

So therefore I am going to remove most of my videos from my youtube channel & start all over again.
Back to basics.
It will still be under the same username: VintageELLE09
But I will stick to the original plan!

As for this blog?
Well I love it just the way it is :)
I find I can express things a lot clearer & directly (is that a word?!) to the point on here & its a lot more engaging. Yes, I wish I did more outfit ideas on here & I will do more, but I feel on here there is not so much pressure then there is on youtube, where there is a constant pressure to perform.

So lets wrap this up on a happy note :)

THANK YOU to all of you lovely people who have supported me over these two years, those who have read my blogposts, commented, sent me emails, said really nice things to me & those who just lend me support. Everyone says it but you really make it worth while, because I have met so many great people. I wish we could all have one, big party together at my house- but I don't think those of you far, far away would pay that amount of money!

So if you have any ideas or things you want me to chat about please don't be afraid to email or comment me. I honestly want to get to know each & every one of you. & on that note if you want to get to know me more then I will be doing a video or blogpost about little ol' me. So if there is anything you want to know, any advice you need then email, comment, tweet me your q's & I will let you all into my life that little bit more soon :)

Much Love,
Elle

A Month In Pictures- My iPhone...

Nearly a month ago my boyfriend brought his iPhone 4S, which meant that after a few years lusting after an iPhone, I would finally be a proud owner of an iPhone 4 (due to his upgrade).
Now one of my main reasons for upgrading to an iPhone over a Blackberry was because of the apps that are available (& also because I ♥ Apple technology) & because of one app in particular.

instagram.

As many of you probably know or have guessed, I LOVE photography & having discovered this app a while back I was really, really excited to be able to FINALLY use it. Now for those who have an iPhone, you are probably very familiar with this app- it gives you the option to be able to add a vintage looking filter to any photo you take & you can upload it straight to twitter or facebook instantly. I love the cute, vintage filters that you can apply to any picture. As a huge lover of vintage looking photo's, this really ticks the box for me & its much easier to apply to a photo this way, instead of spending a good half an hour on photoshop editing the picture & getting the same result. Plus its free!

So heres a little idea of what this app can do...

You get to see what I have been up to this month!

Closet Lusting......

I am currently having one of those 'I need to decorate my room' moments.
Like most women, I have always wanted a walk in closet or a big enough, extremley well organised & colour coordinated closet to call my own. So I always find myself lusting after other people's beautiful closets & ingenious ways of organising, drawing inspiration from these talented people.

Would you care to join my lusting?

My dream closet is of course Carrie Bradshaws ♥
Any ideas, tips, fantasies?

Car Boot Bargains.....

Last Sunday marked the last car boot fair of this season, this is when you pretty much know that summer is over! :(

For many people you either love car booting or you hate them- I personally LOVE them, however I don't always have the best luck with them & bagains/good quality items for me, can sometimes be unheard of. But this Sunday I managed to find some lovely pieces for next to nothing.

Now many of you may not have ever been to a car boot sale before, but its pretty much a field full of cars, with people selling unwanted items on tables in front of their cars. Normally if you want to grab yourself a bargain, you need to be there super early- I'm talking like 7am onwards! Now the thought of having to get up before sunlight on the day of rest may terrify some of you (I hate the feeling of having to leave my warm, toasty bed) however you can get some very good quality items & for really good prices. But you need to be patient! Sometimes you may find nothing, but the chances are the next car boot you go to there will be something you like.

Tips?

1. Wear sensible shoes. If your in a muddy field, get out your Wellington boots!

2. Have an idea in your head what you want to buy, therefore you can scan tables quickly to avoid hours of walking around.

3. Always check the quality of the items. Whether its a DVD or Jumper, double check to see if the correct DVD is in the right case/any scratches? ect, has the jumper got any holes in it?

4. Have a maximum price that you want to pay for in your head & offer £3 lower then you want to pay for it. Then haggle it to the nearest price you can get, to your maximum price. This will give you an indication of how much it's worth.

5. Always carry loose change- never carry anymore then 1 £10 note (unless your going to be buying a lot of furniture!)Be patient. Sometimes you won't find anything at all, but it's the fun part of car booting!

So here are two treasures I managed to find at the last car boot fair & I only spent £5!! Bargains! Haggled the jumper down to £3 from £5 & the bag was a bargain £2!

Have you brought any car boot/charity shop bargains recently?

Much Love,

Elle

Glitter Overload: Revlon Facets of Fuchsia....

I'm a HUGE sucker for anything glittery.
Hats, Bags, Eye Shadow, Nail Polish you name it, I'm drawn to it- kinda like a mouth to a flame or a magpie to a coin (makes more sense!?)

So I was wondering around lost in Superdrug on my lunch break (to avoid staring at the wall in the staffroom!) & I passed the Revlon counter. Now I have NEVER brought anything from Revlon before, my normal routine is "Oh, Revlon. Too expensive. Off to the Barry M counter I go." However being the bargain hunter that I am, a bright red sign caught my eye- "half off",or something along those lines it read :S
& so, onward I went, to boldly go were no Elle has gone before. &whilst looking at a gorgeous mint coloured nail polish & pondering whether it was too depressing to buy a summer colour when summer had left the building, this little baby caught my eye.

It's slightly jazzier then I would normally choose, being a neutral gal that I am, however sometimes you just need to have a little sparkle in your life so I thought, why not give it a go! Plus I'd heard quiet a few good reviews on it which may have swayed my judgement!

So, on application I was slightly disappointed. I applied one coat of the polish thinking "oh it's uber glittery so I won't be needing another coat". No, I was wrong. The first coat only slightly covers your nails in polish, a light grey colour with hardly any glitter whatsoever. At this point I was completely regretting my purchase & cursing my magpie eye. However, I pulled myself together & gave it one last try- a second coat.
& thank god I did because it was only on this application that what I had been expecting on my first coat ACTUALLY happened. I suppose the light grey first coat acts as a base coat, that allows the glitter to stick & the true colour to come out on the second application. Also a huge thumbs up for this polish because it dries super quickly, I'm talking under a minuet which for me is brilliant & what I look for in a good nail polish.

I'm glad I did not stick with my first thoughts about this & that I gave it another go, because otherwise I would not have seen this in all of it's amazing glory. My overall thoughts are that I really like this polish, it lasts for a really long time- it did not chip until 4 days in, the pop of coloured glitter on a dark grey background is a great look for autumn, I love how quickly is dries & I love the overall idea.

Thumbs up from me :)

Have you guys had good experiences with Revlon Nail Polish?

Much Love,
Elle
