Bonsoir mes petit belle amies & welcome to the French Riviera!!

I hope you are all well & are enjoying your week so far, if you don't follow me on instagram (why the hell not!?) or twitter (again, why the hell not!?) then you would have no idea that I am currently in the South of France on holiday with my family- although if you read my last couple of posts then you would actually know or have guessed!

The French Riviera is everything I thought it would be & more- gorgeous views, excellent food & extremely sophisticated. My days have so far been spent relaxing by the pool, drinking chilled rose on the terrace watching the sunset over the bay of Cannes & wondering cobbled streets on the hunt for antiques- & I've only been here for four days!

If you want to see more from my Riviera adventure then follow me on both twitter & instagram where I post daily updates, & of course this will be the hub & scrapbook of my journey from Nice to Cannes, St Tropez to Monaco.

Do you want to join me on my travels?

Much Love,
Elle

Prepping For Holiday Haul......

T minus twelve days until I will be jetting off on my two week *puts on a dodgy french accent* vacances with my family to the South of France!!!!!

I am beyond excited- the food, the sights, the expensive lifestyle, the designers, the boats (!?) to name a few but most importantly to send some quality time with my family relaxing & enjoying each others company.

L-R: Garnier Ambre Solaire BB Cream, Schwarzkopf Got2B Beach Mist Sea Salt Spray, Hawiian Tropic After Sun Cream, Hawiian Tropic Silk Hydration Sun Cream in SPF 30, Garnier Ambre Solaire Clear Protect+ Waterproof Sun Cream in SPF 20, L'Oreal Skin Perfection Micellier Solution & Schwarzkopf Got2B Rockin It Dry Shampoo.

So because I have a pretty jam packed schedule over the next couple of weeks with very little time to go shopping to get much needed holiday essentials, I grabbed my purse & Adam (I can't drive so he is forced to drive me everywhere haaha!) & headed over to Asda to mull over some pool/beach necessitates.

Note: If you live in England & have a local Asda near you (or even if you don't its worth the visit) I would thoroughly recommend having a wonder down their beauty aisles, mainly because I found everything that I was going to buy in Boots or Superdrug substantially cheaper (example: Garnier BB Cream retails in Boots for £14 ish & I picked this one up for £8!!!).

Products at a glance:

Garnier Ambre Solaire BB Cream: By now everyone from your boss to your granny probably knows what a BB (beauty balm) Cream is, but for those who don't it's pretty much a thicker version of a tinted moisturiser with more coverage & beauty boosting benefits. I had seen this in last weeks copy of Grazia & thought I would give it a whirl, the added pluses are it is SPF 50 which is great for not burning the face (cross fingers) & it doesn't feel greasy on the skin like most products with SPF added in do. Slight downside is that at the moment it is a tad too dark for my skin, but for sure once I've been out in the sun a little bit it should work!

Schwarzkopf Got2B Sea Salt Spray: Wanted a cheap Sea Salt Spray to add texture & volume to my no-heat waves & didn't want to commit to £7 for the Toni & Guy one. I have already started to use this & I love- definitely adds a good amount of texture to my waves & holds the style pretty much all day. I think this will make my monthly favourites!!

Hawiian Tropic After Sun Cream & Silk Hydration Sun Cream: These were both brought purely on the fact that they smell amazing- like a coconut party for my nose! I have heard good things about the brand & as they had a huge offer of buy two for £12, they jumped straight into my basket.

Garnier Ambre Soliare Clear Protect Sun Cream: Now this was brought for water-loving Adam. If your other half is addicted to the pool or sea, hates sunbathing but somehow manages to get a burnt then this sun cream is for you! Again I saw this is a magazine & instantly knew that this needed to be the suncream for Adam- marketed as being water resistant & non sticky (one of his hates of feeling like he is wearing sun cream) it is prefect for kids & people who generally hate the feeling of suncream & who love the water. I made him spray some of it on his hand just to try it out & he agreed that it didn't feel sticky or greasy, so we shall see how it fairs!

L'Oreal Micelleir Solution: I ran out this month so needed to purchase some more before I went away & this was a steal at £2 instead of the £4.99 I normally pay in Superdrug!! I love this cleanser & makeup remover so much- it is the closets thing to Bioderma that is readily available in the UK & is so soothing on the skin, especially if it is slightly burnt.

Schwarzkopf Got2B Rockin It Dry Shampoo: Again I ran out of my trusty Tresemme dry shampoo & wanted to try a different brand. This smells nice & fruity & so far it does the job of making my hair look non-greasy in between washes, only problem is that it does leave my scalp feeling a little dry after rubbing in & brushing through which my Tresemme one doesn't.

Are you going on holiday soon? If so where & do you have anymore holiday essentials I should try out?

Much Love,
Elle

Being Elle: The Sunday Catch Up Week 010.....

2013-07-01

*** Yes this is cheekily being posted on a Monday, but better late then never I say!

1. The week began with a very serious meeting at work to discuss our stores future & to cut a long story short, it confirmed the inevitability of it closing. Of course I have only just begun working of this company (just coming up to three months) & really didn't want my time to end so soon, so after a few meetings to discuss my options, I think we have found a much better position for me within the company in a different (but familiar) location- I don't want to jinx anything as of yet, but everything should be finalised this week so I'll update you all soon!

2. On a happier note, Monday also saw the arrival of my much anticipated Zara package! This was of course very exciting as it contained some gorgeous bargains from their sale, which started the previous Thursday. Needless to say I was very very happy with all my pretty purchases so expect a haul video this coming week!

3. I sorted out my craving for frozen yogurt on Wednesday, by visiting one of my favourite places to eat in Brighton- Lick. Plain yogurt, Strawberries & Honeycomb is the best combo!

4. After six long months of hair neglect *gulp*, I finally got a long over due haircut which my hair was very thankful for!! I got more layers put in to deal with the weight thick hair brings & also more around the face just so it didn't look boring! So far I love it but I just need to keep practising my blow drying technique to achieve the overall look I want.

5. Combated my crazy skin breakout head on with a total 'strip down' of products & makeup throughout the week, which saw my skin settle down & get back to normal thank goodness- again look out for a post next week as I need to share with you all these lifesaving products & tips.

6. Had a little giggle watching the Made in Chelsea end of series party- how cringy was the beginning with the superhero sketch??! Favourite cast member of the series was of course Mark Francis, who made me love him even more as well as making me burst out laughing when he declared he didn't even no most of his cast mates names!! & of course reaffirming the fact to all ladies out there that Spencer Matthews is of course the lowest of the low, by admitting that he & Lucy are no longer together as he (of course) has cheated on her- someone should just castrate him already!

7. Peonies (my favourite flower) are finally in season, which means that I will be buying at lest one bunch every week as they make me smile.

8. Sunday as like all of my Sunday's, was very chilled out- Me & my mum visited a National Trust site which was lovely especially with the gorgeous weather we have finally been having. I just love being outdoors, taking all of nature in & enjoying what is outside when the weather is this good, so walking around the grounds of a restored manor house with all the colour & beauty its gardens had to offer was just perfect. It made the day even better by having a little cake & tea in the outdoors cafe, with the company of a family of ducks & the never ending blue sky.

How has your week been?

Much Love,
Elle
